Everyone loves Christmas

Right now we're in the midst of having fun decorating for Christmas. My friends enjoy helping me decorate their home away from home activity center. Some have shared that they can't remember when they last decorated their homes.

Holidays can be especially stale and depressing for the elderly. Many have outlived spouses, adult children, friends and loved ones. What is usually a joyful time for many can actually be the opposite for some.

Youth is fleeting and as we mature, we're just not as agile as we once were although the mind seems to think so. We need not look any further than compare a 16 year old to a 40 year old.

Understanding that we all like to have fun at any age, we take our time during the day and allow everyone of all abilities to help even when they keep dropping ornaments. I found one while cleaning under the sofa. It's just stuff that will all eventually get placed somewhere on the tree or somewhere in the room. Its all about enjoying the season and making the place as "Christmasy" as we like. And as Miss Piggy would say, "too much is never enough!" Can someone say eclectic!?

I left the placement of the bow and poinsettas up to my friends who showed off their creativity.

Now I only hope we have enough days to listen to all the thousands of different kinds of Christmas music.
